Why Gnomes ?
Have you ever wondered what happens to Gnomes as they get older ? Who is there to support them ? Who will be there to escort them back to the rockery when they get confused ?

A Gnome - if you hear one ticking it is probably a metrognome
Did you know that 56% of us have a gnome in our garden? That they lose up to 2cm in height every year? That their average life expectancy is 213.4 years ? And yet there is no major charity or religious group that has an Aged Gnome Support Program. Shocking isn’t it ?
If you Gnoam down to the woods today…
You can do your bit this Autumn to help this forgotten and disadvantaged group by attending The Big Green Gnome Gathering. This Annual Event, dedicated to Gnome Rehabilitation has been held continuously in Zurich for over 700 years (the event was temporarily suspended during the Thirty Years Elven Wars from 1476 – 1592). But this year for the first time ever it is being held in the Forest of Dean (see "How to Find It" opposite).

What to Bring
A Gnome ! (the bigger and greener the better!).
Gnomes love roasted toadstools, dandelion wine and small heart shaped acorns. Venison testicles are considered a particular delicacy.
Bring a tent and a bicycle if you can - we will be having a Treasure Hunt Saturday afternoon.
Students will be searched on exit.
